Portraits of Past at Dudefest - Indianapolis 7/19

Portraits of Past will be playing only one show in the States this summer. It will be at Dude Fest in Indianapolis, IN on July 19, 2009.

We will be playing a few more new songs as part of our set!
We had hoped to have the new record out by the time of the show, but we are a tiny bit behind schedule on that.

Come check it out. Big fest, lots of cool bands playing.

Portraits of Past new recordings

I just got back to NYC from a trip to San Francisco for recording purposes. That's right, Portraits of Past will have a new record this year!
Here are a few photos from the studio.

Those of you who saw us play in 2008 heard one of the new songs. We have a few more too.

Rex is engineering and producing the songs, and though it isn't finished yet, the tracks are already sounding really good.

More info to come!

NYC Cake Shop show review by Blend77 / Zen and the Art of Face Punching blog

I sweated about 5 lbs of liquid out of my body. I went home emaciated and glowing. I can only hope for more shows like this.
This show review by Blend77 from Zen and the Art of Face Punching blog caught my eye. It captures a bit of the feeling of these past shows.

Who Calls So Loud news and Rex's new project - Tamaryn!

Matthew's other band Who Calls So Loud recently lost a guitarist and, as a consequence, had to cancel their Japanese tour. They are still at it though, and have a new 12" out too. See their myspace site for more details: http://www.myspace.com/whocallssoloud

Rex has a new project that just announced a couple record releases, one of which is on Troubleman Unlimited. He co-wrote all the songs, engineered and produced. They recently played a well-received gig in New York and are working on more songs. Tamaryn is the voice and the name of the project.

New blog - ugly but better

Hi there.
We have decided to change the site to a blog format, as it will be much easier to keep it updated that way. A little uglier, but hopefully more relevant. We promise to keep it up to date.
